“Sweet home Alabama” has a few sound-a-likes, most notably “Werewolves of London” by Warren Zevon, which in turn is ripped off by Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long” which ironically quotes “Sweet Home Alabama” in the lyrics.

if i remember correctly, “all summer long” was supposed to be a mix of werewolves of london and of sweet home alabama. I may be wrong though.

You’re right, mb, it’s a mashup of the two riffs. Really, it’s just one long medly down through the years.
Also, Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf is the same riff in double time.

Am I the only one who hears a dominant drum element from Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long”? To clarify, if you listen to the intro of SLTS, it’s the drum element DIRECTLY BEFORE the intro explodes into the full band. Hope that made sense.
