Bon Jovi vs. Bonnie Tyler
Submitted by Polarbear
Wow. I’m surprised I never heard this Bonnie Tyler track. Maybe I did and just thought it was Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name”. The great thing about this one is they were both released in 1986 and both of them were actually written by hit making machine Desmond Child. Not only did Child write nearly identical choruses, both tracks start out with a cappella versions of the chorus. In addition, the verses share a very similar walking bass/guitar line. I guess Child can’t sue himself!
Intro:
Bon Jovi – “You Give Love a Bad Name” (1986)
Bonnie Tyler – “If You Were a Woman and I Was a Man”(1986)
Chorus:
Bon Jovi – “You Give Love a Bad Name” (1986)
Bonnie Tyler – “If You Were a Woman and I Was a Man” (1986)
