Radiohead is Suing Lana Del Rey for “Creep” Soundalike

Long time readers and listeners of this site might not be too surprised about this current lawsuit and soundalike. Back in 2009 I posted about the similarities of Radiohead’s 1992 hit “Creep” and The Hollies “The Air That I Breathe” (1974). Since then some readers have suggested some new ones. And today it has come to my attention that Radiohead is suing Lana Del Rey for her song “Get Free” (2017).  It’s definitely pretty similar. But what about all of these other songs before??? Have a listen to to all of them!

The Hollies - "The Air That I Breathe" (1974)
Radiohead - "Creep" (1992)
Raemonn - "Only When You Sleep" (2001)

Christophe – “Aline” (1965)

Brandi Carlile – “Follow” (2005)

RH was sued and gave songwriting credit to Hazelwood and Hammond. They receive income from Creep. But Creep still exists as a separate work, just with them also listed as writers. It also means if the suit against LDR is successful or settled, they will receive some sort of payment (depending on whether it is a one time settlement or credit). In essence, they can let RH spend the money in lawyers yet reap benefits if successful.
