I always love a good TV theme comparison. Fans of the early nineties television series Twin Peaks might have had “The Loco-Motion” stuck in their head for the next day or two. Have a listen.
I always thought there was something about No Doubt’s 1996 hit “Don’t Speak“. Check out the striking similarity to Irene Cara‘s 1980 theme song to the film Fame. Remember? Remember?
This one has bugged me for years. There’s a little trumpet solo at the end of this Belle and Sebastion track that has reminded me so much of the Charles in Charge theme!

After pairing these guys up it’s clear to me that this is one of those, “eh… I guess I thought they sounded the same but I haven’t heard the Ghostbusters theme in like 10 years” situations.
