I think we need to create a new genre of music called “lazy-girl-rap-dance”.

Jonathan and Kelly pointed out this Justice track a few months back and not that this Miley Cyrus track was brought to my attention I give you the following:

Lady Gaga lands on the site again – this time against English pop singer Natasha Bedingfield. Gaga’s 2009 “So Happy I Could Die” shares quite a resemblance to Bedingfield’s 2008 track “Pocketful of Sunshine”.

Wow. I’m surprised I never heard this Bonnie Tyler track. Maybe I did and just thought it was Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name”. The great thing about this one is they were both released in 1986 and both of them were actually written by hit making machine Desmond Child. Not only did Child write nearly identical choruses, both tracks start out with a cappella versions of the chorus. In addition, the verses share a very similar walking bass/guitar line. I guess Child can’t sue himself!

My friend Mike just brought this to my attention via an AP news report.

I’m not sure I even agree with these similarities but the judge has ruled. Australian rock band Men at Work has plagiarized the Australian nursery rhyme ”Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gum Tree“.

SYDNEY (AP) – A judge ordered Australian band Men at Work on Tuesday to hand over a portion of the royalties from their 1980s hit “Down Under,” after previously ruling its distinctive flute riff was copied from a children’s campfire song. . . “Kookaburra” was written more than 70 years ago by Australian teacher Marion Sinclair for a Girl Guides competition, and the song about the native Australian bird has been a favorite around campfires from New Zealand to Canada…
