This one comes from Elliot
Another one for Green Day’s “21 Guns“. This time it’s the theme to the 80’s sitcom Full House. I love the television theme song comparisons.

I totally said this as soon as I heard the song.
Hey man, when you’re as big as Green Day, you’ll play anything to make a hit. Next up: A GD track about our occupation of Afghanistan that sounds suspiciously like the ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ theme.
I doubt any of the members of Green Day would have ever seen a show like Full House.
I dunno. Both are based in San Fran 🙂
Well, I suppose when the show aired, it might have been everywhere you look.
Also, the chorus has the exact same tune as the chorus of “All the Young Dudes” by David Bowie and Mott the Hoople.
Yup. Got that one here!
So when they perform this in concert, does the crowd start singing “Everywhere You Look”?
this doesn’t sound like the original tv version of the fh-song. but you’re totally right ;D never noticed this.. 😀
Hi Carina, Thanks for the comment. I usually try to get the most accurate/correct music clips but sometimes it doesn’t work out that way.
green day also ripped off the duck tales theme for blood sex and booze
Nice! I’ll check it out!
oh for 21 guns check out this bizarre one
Haaaaaa. What?! That’ amazing!
If you’d like more crazy comparisons, check out Maria from West Side Story vs The Simpsons Theme and Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons vs Humphrey Bear Theme Song.
this green day one is bugging me
i know it but some reason just cant think of it
This also sounds like a TV show theme. But there is something else there, I know what you mean.
maybe a sped up version of this???
or maybe its this
Maybe, but it also sounds like (I Just) Died in Your Arms Tonight by Cutting Crew, it even rhymes.
And Rolling Home by John Farnham (1993).
american idiot supposingly copied this(or so many say)
This part at 1:10 in Jets To Brazil “Conrad” always reminded me of this melody
My mother recons it also sounds like Kids in America by Kim Wilde (1981). It could also be based on their own At the Library (1990) and there is also a similarity with Warning (2000), the chorus of Jesus of Suburbia II. City of the Damned, which is the part which sounds like Summer of ’69 and maybe even She’s a Rebel, but it could be a deliberate reference to Kids in America.
Another television theme song that turns up is the sample of the I Dream of Jeannie theme in Will Smith aka The Fresh Prince’s Girl’s Ain’t Nothing but Trouble.
Thanks! That one is definitely a sample.
The verse of 21 Guns also sounds like the part of Merry Christmas Everyone that goes “We’re gonna have a party tonight.”
Full House theme sounds more like Waterfall from ELO’s Face The Music
