   Hey man, when you’re as big as Green Day, you’ll play anything to make a hit. Next up: A GD track about our occupation of Afghanistan that sounds suspiciously like the ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ theme.

         My mother recons it also sounds like Kids in America by Kim Wilde (1981). It could also be based on their own At the Library (1990) and there is also a similarity with Warning (2000), the chorus of Jesus of Suburbia II. City of the Damned, which is the part which sounds like Summer of ’69 and maybe even She’s a Rebel, but it could be a deliberate reference to Kids in America.

    Another television theme song that turns up is the sample of the I Dream of Jeannie theme in Will Smith aka The Fresh Prince’s Girl’s Ain’t Nothing but Trouble.
