Check out the intro to The Decemberist‘s track “Margaret In Captivity”.
Sounds a lot like Bon Jovi‘s 1987 hit “Wanted Dead Or Alive”.
Bon Jovi - "Wanted Dead or Alive" (1987)
The Decemberists - "Margaret in Captivity" (2009)
After Jon sent me this I remembered I wanted to post Tokio Hotel‘s “Don’t Jump” a while back.

The background music for all three songs do somewhat resemble each other. But the bon jovi and decemberists songs sounds more alike. Tokio hotel sounds more different….it has deeper stronger and slower beats compared to the first two. Don’t jump actually has a more catchier ‘in your face’ tune. Margaret in captivity is a great sound song to relax to.
Don’t Jump sounds exactly like the intro to 18 and Life by Skid Row.
Ah, good call!
That’s exactly what I thought when I heard it!
Just wanted to mention that that Tokio Hotel song sounds MUCH, MUCH more like The Rasmus’ intro/riff from the song Not Like the Other Girls from their album Dead Letters.
Great find. Yeah, very similar.
the tokio hotel song sounds like the intro of “not like the other girls by” – The Rasmus
This is excellent. I’ll be sure to add this!
Just posted it. Thanks!

glad to be of some help…
green day – whatshername
and lil wayne – hot revolver…
the main bass riff is pretty much the same thing..
ironically the first line of the lil wayne song is “do you have the time to listen to me whine” from green days basket case..
??
Sorry. I checked it out. It appears on WhoSampled.com here which leads me to believe it is a credited sample, but I don’t see a credit on the Wikipedia page. Hmmmm.
it talks about greendays basket case not whatshername..
my main point was that the main riff of hot revolver is the same as whatshername..
i should have been a littler clearer..sorry
Ah. I was also meaning to post whatshername against The Wallflowers “One Headlight”. Check out the verse:
yup it kinda sounds like a toned down version..
good find…
sorry but the last post has nothing to do with these songs..
didnt know where else to post
These song for me are not similar… skid row ones maybe a little, but sneke and jon are friends, so, no problem I think.
