When I heard Lady Gaga‘s “Paparazzi” I couldn’t quite figure out what the chorus was reminding me of. It just came to me today – “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin. This is the main love song featured in the 1986 Tom Cruise film Top Gun. Not as dramatic as I thought when I eventually checked it out, but thought I would post it anyway.
Berlin - "Take My Breath Away" (1986)
Lady Gaga - "Paparazzi" (2008)
they sound slightly similar, but it’s a really common melody. pretty much every song has similarities to a different song that was released before it
You have your year wrong. Paparazzi was released in 2008 on “The Fame” album.
Thanks Aaron, you’re correct. I based that year on the release of the single. I’ll correct it now.
That’s funny because the first time I actually heard the Paparazzi song by Lady Gagag I wasn’t paying much attention and thought it was Take my Breat Away, and then I realised it was a totaly new song… So, I got that impression the very first time.
I’m glad I’m not alone ! ^^
Modest Mouse – Float On 😉
