I had a few comments on the Weezer vs. Midnight Oil post relating to the guitar riffage. Here are a few more. They’re all really just along the lines of the Peter Gunn theme by Henry Mancini. Some of you might also recognize this as the theme song to the 1983 arcade game Spy Hunter. Weezer‘s “Hash Pipe” is much closer to Metallica‘s “For Whom The Bell Tolls”
Weezer - "Hash Pipe" (2001)
Metallica - "For Whom The Bell Tolls" (1985)
The Strokes - "Juicebox" (2005)
Henry Mancini & His Orchestra - "Peter Gunn" (1958)
Midnight Oil - "Beds Are Burning" (1987)

They last 3 kind of sound similar but hash pipe and FWTBT are pretty different except for the fact that they use distortion. But good find with the others, thanks
Its very strange if you play all four songs at the same time they kind of go together its really strange
for whom the bell tolls…
cliff rulezzz
the riffs are differents, and james vocals are better than the others.
everybody have differnt opinions but metallica is the fucking best.
Planet Clair by the B=52’s! The first song off their first album.
Brand New Cadillac by The Clash (London Calling). Years ago, I put together a mashup of Planet Claire, Peter Gunn and Brand New Cadillac on a mix tape (Jesus, I’m ancient!). A cool moment that party-goers seemed to enjoy.
Also: Family Man by Hall & Oates!
And Mancini’s own Baby Elephant Walk is in the same family as well.
for hash pipe i seen gwen stefani “whatcha waiting for” get compared to it
May as well throw in “Piece of Me” by Skid Row……Similar to these as well.
Also….The intro to “God is The Bullet By Concrete Blond” Im sure there are more…….
Definitely Planet Claire hence why I mashed it with Juicebox. Also Adamm’s Family theme is very close to Juicebox (GHP mashed those together_
Nice one!
B52’s – “Planet Claire”
