Jason Mraz vs. Jonas Brothers

Thanks to Andrew for sending me this.

Jason Mraz recently slammed the Jonas Brothers camp for it’s similarity of his 2008 hit “I’m Yours”.

“That happened without even knowing! We had the song and it didn’t have the ‘My Wicked Heart’ bit in it and then we put the vocal in and we were like, ‘Why does it sound so familiar?’.”
“Then we realised it was because we were listening to ‘Under The Bridge’ the day before! We were saying, ‘Should we change it? Should we not? What should we do?’. Sod it, no, we’re just gonna keep it, it works, it’s the way it is.”

“I heard the song, and it was just a tremendous, tremendous horror of a tune. I noticed a few similarities in the melody, but it wasn’t enough to pick up the phone and argue with somebody about it. If anything, I just wanted my $1.29 back that I spent on iTunes” – PopEater.com

They are using similar keys, but these songs sound nothing alike to me. I don’t think that Nick and the Jonas Brothers should be penalized for this song, as they DIDN’T EVEN WRITE IT. Someone else did, they only performed it. JASON MIRAZ NEEDS TO GET HIS FACTS STRAIGHT.

    Thanks,

@Travis Okay, so the first one sounds similar, but you can’t convince me that they genuinely ripped that off. The Jonas Brothers are talented individuals and would never do that! It may have just been a strange coincidence or maybe they did it unsubconciousely. The Jonas Brothers actually write their own music and play their own instruments, and I honestly don’t see the resemblance of the last one. That was all in your head dude.

@Travis we agree with Someone the Jonas Brothers obvi antiunsubconsciously wrote a song that sounds like J-Dawgz he called me up and told me just now. btw THEY DO WRITE THEIR OWN SONGS, ANONYMOUS (can I call u the a-dawg? are we close enough that it’s socially acceptable yet??) they just wanna sing about how they like cheese, but only on pizza please. Don’t hate, just appreciate. To enforce this i will be expecting u all at the alley for a group hug. U BETTER BE THERE.

Love the J-BROS besties for and ever (seriously we really do know them),
