@Marcos Really? I noticed straight away. The fireworks song is a sped up version. Probably a coincidence of course but one says ‘Light’ and the other says ‘Night. So even the rhymes similar.
It’s been said that Maroon 5’s current smash “Sugar” sounds like Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night (and also Birthday). No prizes for guessing who the songwriter was.
Not really. I am an Erasure fan, but it doesn’t sound even similar.

I don’t see the similarity, it’s called a sequence. Neither are really melodies, just a basic musical sequence.
some reason firework reminds me of viva la vida in that area
Doubt it’s coincidence. Robot Unicorn Attack is one of the most popular things on the net.
A melody from Erasure “Always” got nicked for the pre-chorus of “Firework”–the line with “there will be no shame”.
Not knocking her BTW. Whoever wrote “Firework” smartly appropriated a popular cult earworm and married it to a big pop star hook.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think part of Scissor Sisters’ “Only The Horses” sounds like “Firework.”
The part of “Only The Horses” is from 0:23 – 0:36 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyiNc1JvjyQ)
& the part of “Firework” is from 0:14 – 0:29 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3P9fyJEu6E).
Firework pre-dates Only The Horses by about 3 years, so it would seem that Scissor Sisters is to blame, though I bet it’s unintentional.
One Direction’s Save You Tonight also has a similar tune to Erasure’s always.
Another One Direction soundalike???? I have a big post coming soon 🙂
There’s a part of John Legend – All Of Me which sounds like Firework and another part which sounds like Aerosmith – I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing
