Train vs. The Wallflowers

Check out the chorus of Train‘s new single “Drive By” with The Wallflowers‘ 1997 single “One Headlight”. Drive safe this weekend!

Nice, but not everyone may be able to hear the similarity because of the different rhythm. I would suggest that the first two lines of Drive By sound like that of I’ll Be There For You by Bon Jovi (1989), which in turn I’ve read was bought or something from Joel Ellis. Compare:
I’ll be there for you, these five words I swear for you
and Oh I swear to ya, I’ll be there for ya.
Admittedly these aren’t unusual statements and the tunes aren’t exactly the same, but it’s enough for me.
For another song similarity concerning Train, the chorus of Shame by Keith Urban (2013) sounds like that of Words (2009).

For Bon Jovi: The chorus of Happy Now (Nov 2009) sounds like the second part of iViva La Gloria! by Green Day (May ’09), but the recording dates for the albums overlap (and iViva La Gloria! in turn sounds like the Jazz standard All of Me) and Learn to Love (2009) sounds like Happy Christmas (War is Over).
