Here we have a track from indie-pop heroes Belle & Sebastian, from their very first EP “Dog on Wheels.” Released a few years later: The Offspring “Americana,” which gained enormous commercial success. Both songs are dope, but the themes are strikingly similar. You be the judge…
Belle & Sebastian - "String Bean Jean" (1997)
The Offspring - "The Kids Aren't Alright" (1999)

Blacktop Manhattan: hollywise(2006 i think)
Also the opening theme to the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” TV series by Nerf Herder. Especially noticeable vs. the beginning of The Kids Aren’t Alright.
I always thought that Offspring song sounded like a cross between ‘Shot By Both Sides’ by Magazine and the theme from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ by Nerf Herder.
It definitely sounds like the Buffy theme, mostly in the production. Magazine is also a good one!
It’s similar, but not enough to call anything into question.
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark – Electricity
Another very similar one to go with them:
Bayside – Devotion and Desire
I should have included the time as well. It’s the chorus at 0:43
