Here’s Katy Perry‘s new single “Wide Awake” (2012) with Lenny Kravitz‘s “Fly Away” (1998) . I suppose it’s more of the rhythmic similarity in the vocal parts. Play them at the same time. It’s kind of weird.

I’ve seen some say these sound alike.
God that bugged me for days, and today I heard Wide awake again in the car and thought damn that’s so familiar but couldn’t get hold of it apart from a song with “.. to anywhere I please” and went crazy over it. Took 2 hours till I got it – I want to get away, Lenny Kravitz. Thanks for also hearing it.
You got it! Thanks for stopping by!
Speaking of Lenny Kravitz, the guitar riff in the song mentioned vs the guitar riff in Switchfoot’s Dark Horses sound remarkably similar.
The first time I heard Wide Awake it sounded really familiar and I knew the song that it sounded like but I just couldn’t remember the words haha!
Lenny Kravitz YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS katy perry BOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lenny Kravitz is the BEST singer/song writer on the world.
Love you Lenny!!!
To extend your pleasure, sing the lyrics to “Fly Away” over this:
Funny you should mention this now that both of them have played together at the Superbowl.
