Katy Perry vs. Lenny Kravitz

Submitted by tapas

Here’s Katy Perry‘s new single “Wide Awake” (2012) with Lenny Kravitz‘s “Fly Away” (1998) . I suppose it’s more of the rhythmic similarity in the vocal parts. Play them at the same time. It’s kind of weird.

Lenny Kravitz - "Fly Away" (1998)

This track was produced by Dr. Luke who appears on ThatSongSoundsLike a few more times.

No problem. I will be updating that functionality shortly so they should start at the right times in the comments.

God that bugged me for days, and today I heard Wide awake again in the car and thought damn that’s so familiar but couldn’t get hold of it apart from a song with “.. to anywhere I please” and went crazy over it. Took 2 hours till I got it – I want to get away, Lenny Kravitz. Thanks for also hearing it.

Speaking of Lenny Kravitz, the guitar riff in the song mentioned vs the guitar riff in Switchfoot’s Dark Horses sound remarkably similar.
