I don’t normally post things like this on the site but I just watched this 13 minute video of YouTube user Davie504 blaze through 100 bass lines and it’s pretty awesome. It just so happens he hits a lot of artists that appear on this site.

It probably relates to a lot of the artists on this site because of how much riff stealing goes on. There are some long riffs here, so some aren’t likely to be just similar by coincidence, but with a short riff, there are only so many possibilities, which can lead to independent creation, which I encountered when: I played a song I wrote then the next song I listened to on iTunes was Stormbringer by Deep Purple and I noticed my riff was similar to the first part of a riff from that and I don’t think I’d heard Stormbringer at the time I wrote my riff, similar to how I wrote a riff similar to a Black Sabbath riff I hadn’t heard until after I wrote mine.
