I was just on a road trip listening to an XM radio station when Demi Lovato‘s “Really Don’t Care” (2014) came on. As soon as the chorus kicked in all I could think of was Pat Benatar‘s “Shadows of the Night” from 1982. Amiright????!!

Of course today’s pop songs are not complete without a couple of strategically placed “oh oh oh’s”. After listening to “Really Don’t Care” check out this short clip in Katy Perry’s “California Gurls”.

thought it was familiar
“Really Don’t Care” is a song by American recording artist Demi Lovato, featuring English recording artist Cher Lloyd. The song was released on May 20, 2014,[1] as the fourth single from her fourth studio album Demi (2013). It was written by Lovato and Lloyd along with Carl Falk, Savan Kotecha and Rami Yacoub, and was produced by Falk and Yaboub. It accumulated the most views of all the songs Lovato streamed from the album prior to its release, and was also the best-selling non-single from Demi.[2] Upon the album’s release, “Really Don’t Care” received praise from critics and was cited as a potential single choice by Billboard.[3]

definitely. I got Demi’s song stuck in my head, and then I just started singing the words to Benatar’s song instead. I didn’t even know what I was singing at first. yes I just heard Demi’s song in 2022 since it was playing at work.
