And the melody of Rudie Can’t Fail vs. Ring of Fire by Anita Baker (1962), made famous by Johnny Cash in 1963. This also raises the subject of At the Library by Green Day (1990).
Anita Carter… not Baker. sry.. had to nitpick there Mark. Anita Carter aka June Carter’s sister.
speaking of “ring of fire” i know i submitted this following link before.. i still hear this reselmblance here
could be tone deaf here..
It’s fine. I don’t actually know how I made a mistake like that, I was ignoring her place in country music and the only similarity in the surnames is that they’re both occupation names.

Be sure to check out the guitar solo.
about “at the library”
This all sounds like from “I fought the law” by the Bobby Fuller Four
Yeah, totally agree. I was going to add that but got lazy at the last minute 🙂
And Julie’s Been Working for the Drug Squad by The Clash (1978). For the record, I Fought the Law was originally by The Crickets, Buddy Holly’s backing band.
Je viens d’entendre “I fought the law” et c’est évident : “Rudie can’t fail” a été influencé partiellement par ce morceau de Bobby Fuller !
I’ve just heard “I fought the law” and it’s obvious : “Rudie cant’ fail” has been influenced by this Bobby Fuller’s tune !
Blondie – I’m gonna love you to
