    And the melody of Rudie Can’t Fail vs. Ring of Fire by Anita Baker (1962), made famous by Johnny Cash in 1963. This also raises the subject of At the Library by Green Day (1990).

        It’s fine. I don’t actually know how I made a mistake like that, I was ignoring her place in country music and the only similarity in the surnames is that they’re both occupation names.
        For JOS, I’ve said that if it seems like a stretch, it’s probably because you’re trying to compare it with the wrong version of Ring of Fire.

      And Julie’s Been Working for the Drug Squad by The Clash (1978). For the record, I Fought the Law was originally by The Crickets, Buddy Holly’s backing band.

      Je viens d’entendre “I fought the law” et c’est Ă©vident : “Rudie can’t fail” a Ă©tĂ© influencĂ© partiellement par ce morceau de Bobby Fuller !
      I’ve just heard “I fought the law” and it’s obvious : “Rudie cant’ fail” has been influenced by this Bobby Fuller’s tune !
