While listening to my favorite music podcast OneSong, Luxxury brought up an interpolation of Rosé & Bruno Mars’ 2024 Grammy nominated collaboration “APT.” You might recognize that infectious hook from the 1982 Toni Basil hit “Mickey”. It turns out “Mickey” songwriters Mike Chapman Nicky Chinn did receive credit for “APT.” Have a listen below!

You might’ve seen that Creaky Boards song around before. It is featured in the compilation of all compilations “CatrianiPlay: The Most Used Melody in Pop Music”

What’s more, 2 of them were already on this site. The Volbeat song was under: One Direction “Night Changes” Sounds Like a Lot of Songs. I wanted to just include the most similar. What I do is mostly listen to music and reorganise other people’s comparisons.
A guy on YouTube made a video explaining why the melody of APT is so common, but I didn’t agree with his examples, which included Night Changes (is everything connected?). At one point he plays the melody on guitar, but to start off with, it’s not even APT, it’s Heaven Nor Hell.
On another note, the DVD of Waitress: The Musical included a solo version of Down at the Diner, by its writer, Sara Bareilles.
Ha. I totally missed the Volbeat on the 1D post. I think you know the site better than I do at this point lol. One day I’m going to make a massive Girl Talk style mashup of every song on this site 🙂

Oooh. They kind of are!
Maybe some sort of cousin. They aren’t exactly the same, but they aren’t dissimilar either. Funnily enough, it was the verse of The Songs I Didn’t Right that was previously compared with CatrianiPlay, which is quite distinct from the chorus. At this rate, we’ll get CatrianiPlay to 100!
Another I didn’t mention is Love Again by Carly Rae Jepsen, because it sounds more like The Songs I Didn’t Write (not Right, like I said earlier). Love Again also sounds like part of Paparazzi by Lady Gaga.
What I meant is, the Carly Rae Jepsen track doesn’t sound so much like APT.
