6 Songs That Sound Like Michael Jackson Songs

He’s the King of Pop so of course he’s gonna appear on this site at least twice, maybe three or four times. There are some good ones here. Enjoy!

Back in 2009 a previously unreleased MJ song called “A Place With No Name” surfaced.  According to one reader, “The album booklet for Xscape states that ‘A Place With No Name’ was recorded during an early Invincible session in 1998.”. According to TMZ, “[They were] told several years ago [that] America’s manager gave his group’s permission for Jackson to record the song, ‘A Place with No Name’ — despite the similarity.” I mean, even the song titles are similar. Listen up:

One day I was in a French restaurant and heard a beat and bass line that really sounded like “Billie Jean”.  Even the synth string part was similar. It was in French and sounded disco-era. I pulled out Shazam on my iPhone and bingo –  “Elle danse Marie” by François Valéry.

Have a listen to The Jackson 5’s 1978 “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” then have a listen to the intro to Huey Lewis & The News – “I Want a New Drug” (1984). There’s also this whole Huey Lewis vs. Ghostbusters thing you can look at after this.

This Michael Jackson song sounds a lot like “A Horse with No Name”

An unreleased Michael Jackson song popped up on TMZ last week that sounds very similar to the 1972 America hit “A Horse with No Name“.  According to TMZ:

“[They were] told several years ago [that] America’s manager gave his group’s permission for Jackson to record the song, “A Place with No Name” — despite the similarity.”
