From the first time I heard Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran’s “Love Yourself” I couldn’t get the association of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” out of my head. Upon further investigation it turns out the melody in “Can’t Help Falling in Love” is actually based on a French love song called Plaisir d’amour on wikipedia (translated “The pleasure of love”) from 1784.

I have doubled the speed of the Presley track to more closely match the progression:
Elvis Presley - "Can't Help Falling in Love (sped up x2)" (1961)
Here’s the original:

And finally, the old French song:
Jean Paul Egide Martini (performed by Nana Mouskouri) - "Plaisir d'amour" (1784)
