I was curious about this one because Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up” is such a huge hit. I definitely hear the similarity in Sandé‘s vocal line. Then I noticed a YouTube comment that pointed to Toto‘s 1979 track. Check ’em out!
Back in 2011 Avicii took X Factor star Leona Lewis to court. Anyone know what happened with this?

This is an unexpected turn of events here at ThatSongSoundsLike. It seems that for once our pal Dr. Luke might have influenced another artist instead of the other way around. Check out Tiësto‘s “Red Lights”. You’ll immediately hear the similarity in the verse of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” (2010).
Dr. Luke (Lukasz Gottwald) has been racking up the hits in the last few years for artists like Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Ke$ha. He’s also been at the center of numerous copyright infringement cases. And of course made many appearances on ThatSongSoundsLike. I thought it might be interesting if I compiled a bunch together in one post. Enjoy!
Have a nice day!
