When you have kids you start listening to music that you never thought you’d listen to. Like the Frozen soundtrack. Over, and over, and over, and over again. Then your kid finds out there is a Frozen 2. And you listen to that soundtrack over, and over, and over again. And then you find out there is a deluxe edition. There are unreleased songs on there. Then you come across a song called “I Seek the Truth”. It sounds maybe like a demo of “Show Yourself”. But the interesting thing to me was that I immediately thought of Phantom Planet’s 2002 track “California”. It’s eerily similar. The piano, the cadence, the melody is almost there. Have a listen!
If you want to dice deeper into this soundtrack there are even covers by Panic! at the Disco and Weezer on the Frozen 2 soundtrack. But if you don’t have kids yet, you can Let it Go.
