Dream Theater looking their toughest.
Ben submitted a great comparison of Tool’s 1997 single “Forty Six & 2” and Dream Theater‘s “Home”. The thing that really makes these bass lines sound similar is the flanger/chorus effect on both.
This one popped up in the news today.
Ulrich Schnauss, a German electronic artist, filed suit against Guns N’ Roses, saying that its song “Riad N’ the Bedouins” includes unauthorized samples of his tracks “Wherever You Are” and “A Strangely Isolated Place.” But in a statement, the manager Irving Azoff said that the band “vigorously contests these claims.”

This one was suggested by Phil who points out Green Day‘s epic track “Jesus of Suburbia” and its similarity to Motley Crue’s 1983 “On With the Show”.
After giving a listen to “Jesus” I couldn’t help notice the similarity to Bryan Adams‘ classic jam “Summer of ’69”.
