Harry Styles “As It Was” sounds a lot like a-ha “Take on Me”

If you’ve heard Harry Styles’ 2022 chart topper “As It Was” you might have heard a familiar sounding hook. The main keyboard hook in Styles’ track sounds strikingly similar to the 1984 a-ha track “Take on Me”.  Here are some isolated clips of that riff:

One Direction vs. The Sscript vs. Bruce Springsteen

I keep telling myself that I’m done posting about One Direction on this site but they just keep coming. Here’s a taste of one of their new singles “Night Changes”. As you can see from the photo above The Boss and the dude from The Script don’t seem to happy.

This one was noted by Eleanor and H.D. Bruton. This isn’t the first time One Direction has appeared on this site either. I have compiled another post called 10 One Direction Songs that Sound Like Other Songs.

On first listen you will no doubt hear the strong similarity of Journey‘s 1983 classic “Faithfully”.  New Found Glory also has a similar intro. I’ll just line ’em up for you and you can listen for yourself.
