Interpol vs. Siouxsie and the Banshees

Check out the guitar riff in Interpol’s “Roland” and Siouxsie and the Banshees‘ 1981 “Sin in My Heart”. It’s not an exact match but you can definitely hear the influence.

The Hives vs. ELO

The Hives just came out with a new single called “Go Right Ahead”. Go right ahead and check it out next to ELO‘s classic “Don’t Bring Me Down”.

UPDATE:
Thanks for the tip from Travis. According to the wikipedia page for “Go Right Ahead”  The Hives contacted ELO for  permission to use the “Don’t Bring Me Down” melody.

Small sections of the song bears similarity to British group Electric Light Orchestra’s (ELO) “Don’t Bring Me Down”. However, it should be noted that The Hives contacted and received permission from ELO’s songwriter, Jeff Lynne, to use the similar riff.  – wikipedia

The Rapture vs. Sisqó

The Rapture are back on the scene and have a new album coming out in September. Not only does their first single “How Deep is Your Love” share the name of a well known Bee Gees track, it seems to share the same chorus as Sisqo‘s “Thong Song” from 2000.
